Chelsea have just completed the signing of Axel Disasi from AS Monaco, and he has revealed which Blues legend he was compared to when he was younger.
Chelsea paid the French side around £38.5m for Axel Disasi, with the Blues in need of a new central defender after the long-term injury Wesley Fofana picked up.
The 25-year-old has since spoken to the club’s official media channels, telling supporters that his first coach used to draw similarities between him and Marcel Desailly.

“My first coach said you are like Marcel Desailly and it’s also similar to my name,” he said.
“Desailly, Disasi, they’re a little bit the same, so the people say you are like Desailly and he was a good player, a great player of the French national team and for Chelsea also.”
Will Axel Disasi start against Liverpool?
Chelsea have injuries at the back, with both Fofana and Benoit Badiashile out injured. Nevertheless, it would be a shock if Disasi was in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI for the game.
The France international has missed the whole of the Blues’ pre-season, while Pochettino still has Thiago Silva and Levi Colwill at his disposal.

The latter looks like he will be a big player for Chelsea both now and in the future, recently putting pen to paper on a new six-year deal.
The 20-year-old would not have signed that without guarantees, especially when so many other clubs were chasing him.
That includes Brighton & Hove Albion, where he spent last term on loan. According to Sky Sports, Chelsea rejected a £30m bid for him from the Seagulls in June.
Disasi will get game time in the new campaign after Fofana and Badiashile’s injuries, buy you would expect Silva and Colwill to be the partnership that Pochettino goes with for the Liverpool match and perhaps the next few fixtures after that.
