Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has reported on Tuesday afternoon that Chelsea’s Mason Mount is an injury doubt this week for England’s national team.
Mount has started the previous two England matches during the current international break, but is a doubt ahead of Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier against Poland at Wembley Stadium.
The 22-year-old has become a nailed-on starter for the Three Lions, as his reputation continues to soar at both club and international level.
Solhekol has detailed though that the Blues attacking midfielder wasn’t training with the full England squad today, and was forced to work separately indoors.
“One player is missing this morning, and that is Mason Mount,” Solhekol told Sky Sports, as quoted by Football Daily.
“We’ve just been told that he will not be training with the rest of the England squad. He is actually training indoors with England’s medical and performance team.
“That would seem to suggest he is a doubt for tomorrow night’s game. If he’s not taking part in this training session here, you would have to think that would he will not be playing tomorrow.”

The Chronicle View
If Mount is unavailable on Wednesday against Poland, then it’s a big blow for England boss Gareth Southgate, who appears to favour him in the XI ahead of this summer’s European Championships.
But Chelsea fans will be the ones even more worried.
The creative playmaker appears to be getting better all the time, and is developing into an important figure in Thomas Tuchel’s side at Stamford Bridge.
There are always concerns though for clubs when their players link up with their countries that some will return injured.
Southgate is due to hold a press conference on Tuesday, which should hopefully provide an update on the fitness of the Chelsea star.
