Chelsea legend Petr Cech was the latest guest on John Obi Mikel’s podcast.

The former Chelsea stars discussed many things on The Obi One Podcast, with John Obi Mikel bringing up the time when Petr Cech lost it with one of their team-mates.

During one training session, the retired goalkeeper was not happy with Florent Malouda and let him know that.

Cech has made a lot of media appearances recently, speaking to one Spanish outlet last month, where he revealed that he was only millimetres away from stopping Andres Iniesta’s famous goal against Chelsea.

Djordje Petrovic now looks to be the Blues’ current No.1, who has been compared to Cech by another former Chelsea shot-stopper Kevin Hitchcock.

Petr Cech lost it with Florent Malouda in Chelsea training

Malouda once caused Cech to go berserk during a training session at Chelsea, according to Mikel.

Speaking on his podcast, the former midfielder said: “When he really gets angry, he goes for it, he goes for it. He stands up and he goes for it.

“But I hadn’t seen him get so angry until… mostly when I’ve seen him do it, it’s on the training pitch. One time he had it with Florent Malouda, if he remembers that! Obviously, Flo was Flo, and then he said to Flo: ‘Oi! If you don’t want to train, you can go home!’ “

Chelsea had high standards

We cannot see what is happening at Cobham right now, so it would be unfair to make any judgements about the training there.

However, it is clear that during Cech’s days, the standards at Chelsea were extremely high. It is probably why his Chelsea team were so successful.

Hopefully this new Blues side can become as successful, but they are obviously a long way from it at this moment in time.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men lost the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool at the end of last month and sit 11th in the Premier League table. There is a lot of work to do to get Chelsea back to the top again.
