Journalist Matt Law has claimed that Romelu Lukaku could still make a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

He told the ‘London is Blue’ podcast that the offer is still on the table for him to make the move to Al-Hilal this summer if he can’t get a transfer to Inter Milan.

It has been widely accepted that Lukaku is set to be on the move this summer, with no one at Stamford Bridge wanting him to stay for next season.

However, Inter Milan are currently not playing ball regarding agreeing to a permanent deal.

This has left the Blues perhaps looking elsewhere in order to get rid of him, with Saudi Arabia looking to bring him in this summer.

Lukaku could still move to Saudi Arabia

Law has said that this offer has remained on the table and could be exercised later in the window.

He said: “I know there were talks this week, I know there was a theory that the second half of this week could be key to Lukaku’s future, and I’m assuming that’s with Inter.

“I do think he’ll end up there, it might have to be a loan with an obligation because otherwise you have probably got to sit and wait and see whether Inter can sell Onana or someone else and bring in the money and then whether they are willing to do it, so if they want to get this sorted out fast they may have to agree with a loan with the obligation.

“I don’t think Saudi is fully off the table, I think he hasn’t accepted it at the moment but I think if we were to get a lot further down the line in the transfer window and nothing came with Inter Milan he might still end up going to Saudi and that’s thrown a bit of a spanner in the works for Inter, so Chelsea now have a club – Al Hilal – who are prepared to pay quite a sizeable transfer fee for Lukaku to sign him permanently.”

The Blues have already been helped out a lot by clubs from Saudi Arabia, with them taking a number of players who are surplus to requirements already.
