John Obi Mikel has shared his surprise candidate for the best passer he has ever seen at Chelsea.
He told the ‘Obi One’ podcast that he believes Deco was the best the club ever had, with podcast guest Florent Malouda in agreement.
Deco did not spend long at Stamford Bridge, however it seems he certainly had an impact on his teammates at the time.

The likes of Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack were also at the club, and will no doubt have been in the conversation for the accolade.
However, the Chelsea legends claimed that it was the former Porto and Barcelona man who took the crown of best passer ever in West London.
He said: “Yeah Deco, the touch. The way he receives the ball, he never controls the ball with his inside step. He always put his studs on the ball. He’s just special, because when his foot is on the ball he can move it wherever he likes.

“He could dribble past a player with his foot on the ball. It was special to watch Deco play. He was another player who came to the team from Barcelona, he has to play.”
The Portuguese legend may have gone down a bit in the estimations of Chelsea fans after his part in seeing one of Thomas Tuchel’s key transfer targets move elsewhere.
The club agreed a fee with Leeds United for Raphinha, however the player’s desire to move to Barcelona saw him hesitate on agreeing terms for a move.
His agent at the time, Deco, worked hard to get him a move to La Liga, however there have already been reports that they are looking to cut their losses and sell the Brazilian in the upcoming transfer window.
