Chelsea’s Mason Mount has claimed in an interview with The Telegraph that he would bury his England shirt if he was part of a World Cup winning team this winter.
The 23-year-old will almost certainly be an important part of Gareth Southgate’s plans in Qatar, as the Three Lions hunt for a memorable tournament later this month.
Mount proved exactly what he can do for his nation in the final Nations League game before the tournament. Despite being on the bench for the start of the game, a sensational strike dragged them back level against Germany.

England are drastically short of form going into this tournament. The ended said Nations League campaign not even scoring from open play until the final game at Wembley.
However, an international tournament brings an opportunity where anything can happen.
Mount would bury shirt
Mount has said that the competition win would mean so much to him that he would bury his shirt forever, with it far too valuable to hang on his wall.
He said: “That’s a special one. I’d probably bury it under the ground. Never see it again and then bring it back up in the future! That would be a special one.
“I have some on the walls in my house of youth cup days, winning the Champions League and stuff. But, God, that World Cup one would be very special. I’d have to bury it.”

There is a good chance Mount starts in a midfield trio as England get their campaign underway against Iran in a couple of weeks.
He could start alongside Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, who are both heavily linked with moves to Chelsea next year.
While Mount will feature, fellow Blues Ben Chilwell and Reece James have been ruled out of the tournament through injury.
