Harry Kane openly admitted that his ideal teammate would be former Chelsea midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne.
Speaking on The Overlap, the Tottenham Hotspur forward was asked by Gary Neville to name one Premier League player he’d love to work with.
Kane has operated with some fine technicians in his career, including Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale.
But in a fantasy footballing world, Manchester City’s marvellous creator came top of the agenda.
“De Bruyne, for sure,” said Kane when asked about his perfect partner.
“When I watch De Bruyne, he’s a special player.
“Some of the balls I see him put in for City, they are a striker’s dream if I’m honest.
“You see it year in year out, he’s an outstanding player. With the ball, off the ball, pressing. His deliveries are as good as I’ve ever seen.”
Perhaps in an alternative universe, Kane and De Bruyne could be playing together for Chelsea.
There has been a flurry of activity surrounding the future of Tottenham’s precious gem.
His desire to leave Spurs in the summer was recently revealed by Sky Sports, which put plenty of clubs on red alert.
One of those being Thomas Tuchel’s Blues, who are apparently preparing a bid of their own for Kane.
ESPN reported that Chelsea were ready to offer three players in exchange for the England captain.
Whilst Kane looks very unsettled, De Bruyne is extremely comfortable in Manchester.
This wasn’t the case when he was on the books at Stamford Bridge.
The brilliant Belgian joined Chelsea in 2012, but left two years later after failing to make his mark in South West London.
He moved to Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and then Manchester City. The rest, as they say, is history.
