John Terry really enjoyed Chelsea’s performance against Aston Villa in their FA Cup fourth round replay at Villa Park.

Chelsea ran out 3-1 victors after goals from Conor Gallagher, Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez scored an incredible free-kick in the second half of the match, but John Terry was impressed with his all-round game, taking to X to praise the midfielder.

It was Fernandez’s sixth goal of the season, with the 23-year-old now really starting to chip in in attack.

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon also loved the kind of tackles Fernandez was putting in on the night.

John Terry praises Enzo Fernandez after Aston Villa win

Terry raved about both Fernandez and Chelsea’s performance as a whole after the victory at Villa Park yesterday.

On X, the former defender said: “So much better tonight. The movement on and off the ball was excellent, Enzo was superb tonight. Played forward and ran forward which causes problems for defenders.

“Away fans were excellent. Tough run of games coming up but I want to see more of that.”

Enzo Fernandez and Chelsea deserve praise for Aston Villa win

It was arguably their best performance this season, especially their first-half display.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men went 2-0 up and were extremely dominant against a Villa side who have been exceptional in the Premier League.

Not only did Fernandez and Chelsea get the job done, but they got it done in style and against a very good team. The Blues have been heavily criticised this term and rightly so — they are currently 11th in the table — but they deserve some credit for their latest performance.

This has to be the standard for the rest of the season now. If Pochettino’s side do not drop below it, they can have a strong finish to the campaign.
