Plenty of Chelsea supporters on social media praised N’Golo Kante’s relatively brief performance against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Kante played the final 23 minutes of the Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge last night that eventually ended 1-1.
The Frenchman entered the fray with his side in front, thanks to Romelu Lukaku’s second goal in as many top-flight games.
Thomas Tuchel’s team could not hold onto their lead, however, and conceded in the first minute of additional time.
Kante’s contribution
In fairness, Brighton probably deserved their late equaliser on the basis of their confident second-half display.
It says a lot about how the game was going that Tuchel felt the need to bring on Kante to try and sure up the result.

He provided his typical energy in the midfield, plus helped out defensively when necessary.
According to WhoScored.com, the 30-year-old managed one interception and clearance, along with an 80% passing accuracy.
His efforts earned the approval of several Chelsea fans who watched the match from behind their screens.
Here’s how they reacted to Kante’s cameo on Twitter:
Brighton better than Chelsea
Unfortunately, Kante’s small runout could not swing the tie in Chelsea’s favour.
After taking the lead via Lukaku’s cranium, the Blues struggled to penetrate Brighton, who grew as the evening progressed.
Graham Potter’s men took the fight to their hosts and were ultimately rewarded for their own endeavour.

Danny Welbeck beat two markers to guide his header past the stranded Edouard Mendy.
Sharing the spoils meant Chelsea dropped even further behind Manchester City, who defeated Brentford 1-0 last night to continue their charge towards regaining the title.
