Chelsea have a real togetherness going on at the club right now, and Marc Cucurella has revealed the surprise player who is in charge of the WhatsApp group chat.

The Blues currently find themselves fourth in the table after an impressive start to their Premier League campaign under Enzo Maresca.

However, Chelsea are set for arguably their toughest challenge yet tomorrow as a trip to Anfield to face first-place Liverpool is on the cards.

Enzo Maresca has already revealed that he won’t change how his side plays when they rock up at Anfield, with the mindset of wanting to come away with three points.

One positive for the Blues is the return of Reece James, who is finally fit and ready after yet another long injury lay-off at Cobham.

Interestingly, Marc Cucurella is suspended for tomorrow’s game, so he’s spent his time exposing which Chelsea teammate is in charge of the WhatsApp group chat.

Marc Cucurella reveals who runs the players’ group chat

Enzo Maresca has brilliant squad depth at Chelsea after what was a busy summer transfer window.

However, it is one of the older players that is leaned on behind the scenes to keep things in check when it comes to the Chelsea WhatsApp group chat.

Marcus Bettinelli has only made one appearance since moving to Chelsea in 2021, but that hasn’t stopped him being put in charge of off-field duties.

When speaking to Sky Sports, Marc Cucurella revealed that Marcus Bettinelli is the one in charge of the WhatsApp group chat.

He said this when asked who runs the group chat.

“Marcus Bettinelli, he need to put the fines and set up everything.”

What does Marcus Bettinelli think of his lack of minutes?

Interestingly, Marcus Bettinelli spoke out about a month ago, stating how appreciative he is of the owners for not getting rid of him at Chelsea.

“When I joined the club as third choice ’keeper behind Kepa and Edouard Mendy at that time, I sort of knew my role and my responsibilities. I probably learnt a lot in that first year of doing it.

“The club has been through a change and I have been a part of it. I am thankful that I am still here.”

It’s clear that Bettinelli has taken up more of a leadership role at Chelsea, like you see with Scott Carson at Manchester City.
