Back in January, Chelsea raised a few eyebrows when allowing Jude Soonsup-Bell to join Tottenham.

The 19-year-old was given permission to leave Stamford Bridge six months before his contract expired despite being highly rated by those at Stamford Bridge, after growing disillusioned in west London.

According to the Evening Standard, the teenager even rejected Manchester City to join Spurs, after the north Londoners outlined a clear pathway into the first-team for him.

Now, Jude Soonsup-Bell is really starting to shine for Tottenham after his Chelsea exit in January…

What’s the story?

Well, the England Under-19 international has began the 2023/24 campaign on fire.

Soonsup-Bell scored two goals against Blackburn on Saturday to fire Tottenham’s Under-21 side to a 4-0 win in the Premier League 2.

It means the Chippenham-born wonderkid has now scored four goals in four Premier League 2 appearances this season, helping Spurs win all four outings.

Soonsup-Bell has also provided two assists in these four appearances.

If he keeps this up, it surely won’t be long until Ange Postecoglou gives him an opportunity in the first-team.

Jude Soonsup-Bell could make Chelsea look very silly

If Soonsup-Bell fulfils his potential at Tottenham and becomes an important player for them, it would make Chelsea look quite foolish when you consider just how much the Blues have spent to pinch talent from other clubs.

It only makes it worse that Soonsup-Bell is performing like this for one of Chelsea’s biggest rivals.

To put it simply, Todd Boehly will surely be furious if a gem Chelsea already had at their disposal shines for Tottenham, given the fact the American has been spending heavily to find the next big thing.

Nevertheless, Chelsea made Soonsup-Bell feel disillusioned by their wild approach to hoovering up talent, so if he does end up becoming a superstar, the Blues will only have themselves to blame.
