Ally McCoist has made the bold prediction that Chelsea will clinch a double this season by winning both the FA Cup and Champions League during the next couple of months.
The Blues, who’ve already won silverware this campaign in the Super Cup and Club World Cup, are looking dangerous under manager Thomas Tuchel.
They sit third in the Premier League table and are probably too far adrift of the top two to get involved in a late title bid. Also, they were beaten by Liverpool in last month’s Carabao Cup final.
However, Chelsea are still alive in two competitions.
Tuchel’s men face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium, with ticket plans reportedly being drawn up to try allow fans to attend.
In addition, there is a mouth-watering Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on the horizon.
TalkSPORT pundit McCoist named Chelsea as his predicted winners of the FA Cup and Champions League when asked. He’s convinced that people shouldn’t be writing them off.
“I don’t know why we are writing them off [for the Champions League]. I know they’ve got Real Madrid. However, they’ve already beaten Manchester City in the Champions League final,” McCoist told talkSPORT.

Chelsea season could still be special
This 2021/22 season will go down in Chelsea history, largely down to the fact it’s set to end Roman Abramovich’s ownership.
It will make it even more special if this squad of players can win a trophy in the final months of the season given all the off-field antics, too.
They will face Manchester City or Liverpool in the FA Cup final if they beat Palace, so that in itself is a massive challenge.
It’s going to be equally as difficult to win the Champions League and regain their European crown.
