Jason Cundy thinks Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is overrated, and he doesn’t want him to join Chelsea this summer.

PSG attacker Neymar, who’s one of the biggest names in the sport, is linked with a move away from the French capital at the end of the season.

ESPN claimed this week that Neymar is ready to leave Paris this summer. The Ligue 1 giants will let him go if the right deal emerges, too.

ESPN’s report added the fascinating line that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is a big fan of Neymar and wants him at Stamford Bridge.

TalkSPORT pundit Cundy, who’s a former Chelsea player and Blues fan, insists Neymar would be a really bad signing:

When asked if he would like Neymar at Chelsea, Cundy told talkSPORT: “No… There’s a reason why PSG are trying to sell him.

“He’s obviously a brilliant player, I think overrated, I don’t think he’s anywhere near the bracket of [Lionel] Messi.

“I don’t think he’s the type of person that Chelsea need right now.

“Neymar, there’s a circus around him. There’s only a handful of clubs that can afford him.

“He flatters to deceive. Since he left Barcelona he’s not won anything of note.”

Neymar would bring so much attention, as well as a lot of quality, if he did join Chelsea.

But despite Boehly’s desire to sign the Brazilian superstar, we suggest giving him a miss.

It would be great to see the Blues be a lot more shrewd with their transfer dealings after a couple of really poor windows under this ownership.

This summer should be the time to focus on a new goalkeeper and a new centre-forward to improve the starting XI.
