In the last 12 months, there has been one shining light in particular at Chelsea who has been a cut above the rest.
The signing of Cole Palmer has revolutionised the playing squad at Stamford Bridge, with him performing at an extraordinary level since he has been afforded the chance to play regular football.
His importance to the side is shown by the worries that have surrounded his recent fitness woes, with him leaving the England camp due to an ongoing issue.

He has also been nominated for the Ballon d’Or award, with Trevoh Chalobah seeming to vouch for his qualities in the aftermath.
The England international was previously a nominee for the Premier League player of the season award, after picking up the honour of being the young player of the campaign.
Minto believes Cole Palmer deserved Premier League Player of the Year
Pundit Scott Minto believes he was actually unlucky to miss out on the honour, with it going instead to former teammate Phil Foden.
He said to TalkSPORT: “And this is why Cole Palmer for me was Player of the Season last season. Phil Foden – amazing. Rodri – amazing. Declan Rice – amazing.
“But to do it in these toxic kind of situations where the shirt weighs so heavy, where the fans have been incredibly patient but are starting to get impatient at what they are seeing because of such an inconsistency, that kid, I am telling you now, was nothing short of sensational last season.”
Palmer starting season on fire
Palmer has gotten off to a superb start to this campaign too, registering a goal and four assists in his first three games of the season.
Enzo Maresca tweaking his position after the opening game against Manchester City may well be behind this, with him now operating from a more central position.
This has also allowed Noni Madueke to come into the side and impress greatly, with there now being plenty of options for the Blues to strike with.
