Darren Bent has urged Premier League side Liverpool to pursue a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham over Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

Bellingham and Mount, who are both England internationals that were involved at the recent World Cup, have been linked with potential moves to Anfield.

90min reported this week that Liverpool are putting together their case to sign 19-year-old midfielder Bellingham in the summer

Meanwhile, journalist Simon Phillips explained to GiveMeSport in December that Liverpool are among the clubs keeping a close eye on 24-year-old attacking midfielder Mount.

TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has highlighted Liverpool’s interest in English duo Bellingham and Mount, but he’s convinced the Merseyside outfit should be going for the former as a preferred target.

“Mason Mount is a funny one because Liverpool are sniffing,” Bent told talkSPORT.

“Mount’s a good player but you can’t get them both. If you can get Bellingham or Mason Mount, you’re going Bellingham, right?”

Mount, who’s won back-to-back player of the year awards at Chelsea in the last two years, is going through a tough individual patch of form during this season.

However, there’s no way the Blues should even contemplate selling him, especially to a rival like Liverpool.

The creative midfielder is now starting to divide opinion in the fanbase because he’s struggling to play himself back into form, but it’s not the time to turn your back on him.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea are focusing on new contracts right now for both Mount and N’Golo Kante. Therefore, it doesn’t sound like Mount exit rumours are anything to be worried by right now.
