Former Chelsea star Tammy Abraham is part of a long list of players that has attempted to break the striker curse at Stamford Bridge over the years.

Tammy Abraham scored 30 goals in 82 first-team appearances for the Blues. However, he ended up leaving in 2021 and the search for a prolific frontman has continued since.

The 26-year-old, who currently plays for Roma, has now reached out on social media to a centre-forward linked with a potential move to Chelsea.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney, 28, is rumoured to be attracting some significant interest going into this summer.

He sent out a message last night to suitors with his first ever goal for England in a 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley Stadium.

The Mirror claimed this month that Brentford may lower Toney’s asking price this summer to around £60 million amid interest from both Chelsea and Arsenal.

We wonder what clubs made of the 28-year-old’s display last night for his country.

He scored his first senior England goal with a composed penalty kick versus Belgium, plus his overall hold-up play was excellent.

Toney celebrated his Tuesday night achievement with a a post on Instagram. This received a three-word response from Abraham in the comment section.

“Good camp with the boys. Proud to score my first goal for England,” Toney wrote.

Abraham responded: “First of many.”

Chelsea should push for Ivan Toney

Brentford’s powerful striker passed his audition last night when leading the line, so we think he’s got a great chance of going to this summer’s Euro 2024 tournament as part of England’s final 23-man squad.

From what we’ve seen of the centre-forward, he’s exactly the type of signing Chelsea needs.

He can provide a focal point with his size, technique and football brain. Also, he’s a natural in front of goal.

The Blues need to recruit a top striker over the summer and we’re suggesting going all out for Toney.

For £60m, you could be signing a guarantee of goals in the Premier League and someone entering their prime years.
