Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham has been named Premier League and Young Player of The Year at the London Football Awards on Thursday evening.

Tammy beat teammate Jorginho, Crystal Palace’s Gary Cahill, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and last year winner Tottenham Hotspur’s Heung-min Son to the Premier League Player of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Tammy got his hand on Young Player of the Year award ahead of two Chelsea teammates Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount, Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

The 22-year-old has seen himself in the limelight this season under Frank Lampard. Having spent three seasons on loan at Swansea City, Bristol City, and Aston Villa, Tammy was given the nod to lead Chelsea’s attack this season.

He has had 13 goals and three assists from 25 appearances in the Premier League and was in the race for the golden boot before he was struck by an ankle injury and illness.

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck jokingly suggested other clubs to consider a transfer ban which played a part in Tammy’s Chelsea career.

Buck joked: “The nominees show a transfer ban is a very good thing. In fact, I recommend it to all of the London clubs.”

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes were also nominated for the Manager of the Year category but the award went to Brentford’s Thomas Frank.

Chelsea Women’s Bethany England, Erin Cuthbert, and Magda Eriksson were in the contention for Women Player of the Year award but lost out to Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema.
