TCC View: Bruce Buck has said more than enough by not issuing an apology to Chelsea fans

Bruce Buck’s silence should say everything about how he feels towards Chelsea supporters and their disagreement with the European Super League.

Following yesterday’s announcement that the exclusive tournament had fallen at the first hurdle, the grovelling began.

Numerous owners of the Premier League clubs involved in this vanity project released flimsy statements of regret to their fans.

Manchester United chairman Joe Glazer and Liverpool owner John W Henry offered an apology to their respective followers.

Arsenal and Manchester City issued their own declaration of remorse.

But the Blues and Tottenham Hotspur still remained silent in the midst of all this guilt.

Buck and Daniel Levy have left themselves in an uncompromising position that will not be looked upon kindly.

The Chelsea chairman was apparently the one to tell Thomas Tuchel’s squad about the proposed plans for a new European League.

He also addressed fans on Monday, extensively defending the club’s involvement in this rebel competition.

Unfortunately, Buck hasn’t had the same confidence to come out and admit his mistakes.

It feels too far down the line to speak out now, considering how quickly others tried to bury their blushes.

This is proof that Chelsea is only seen as a business to Buck and Chief Executive, Guy Laurence.

They don’t have supporters’ interests at heart, only their own financial gain.

Failure to produce even the most robotic of testimonies screams volumes about their selfish attitudes.

Maybe maintaining your muzzle is best for you Bruce. It would save the pain of hearing your PR waffle.
