One football agent has described Kai Havertz’s transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal as a “terrible deal”.
The Gunners paid their London rivals £65m to sign the attacking midfielder in a move that has left an unnamed agent truly baffled.
He told The Athletic: “Havertz…I don’t get it. I’ve never got it. I don’t think he was needed. It’s the luckiest agent in the world to have done that deal and the player to have not had to move very far geographically.
“I would have said that before the season started. When you’re watching (now), you see a lack of quality and confidence. He might prove me wrong, but for that amount of money — terrible deal.”

Havertz has found this early part of his Arsenal career difficult. In the four Premier League games the 24-year-old has played under Mikel Arteta so far, he failed to score or provide an assist.
Havertz will now be looking to rectify that when his side travel to Everton on Sunday.
Good deal for Chelsea
If Havertz’s transfer to Arsenal was a terrible deal for the Gunners, then it was a good one for Chelsea.
Being shoehorned into a No.9 at Stamford Bridge, the Germany international did not really have a best position during his time in blue.
While Havertz was playing up front for Chelsea, he was not prolific, managing to score just seven league goals last term. For his former club to make basically all of their money back on him, that is brilliant business.

With all of that being said, it does not mean that Havertz lacks quality. It is still very early in his Arsenal career and, at this point, he may just need a set position to truly thrive.
Maybe Arteta eventually gives him that and with the Spaniard being an excellent coach, perhaps he could be the man to unlock the attacker’s full potential.
But it is clear that Chelsea probably needed to head in a new direction, while Havertz evidently felt he needed something different as well.
