Pundit Jason Cundy has claimed he was very disappointed at what he saw from Chelsea in Saturday’s defeat against Nottingham Forest.

He told TalkSPORT that he was appalled at how clueless the club looked when trying to break down a side who sit deep and defend.

Saturday saw the Blues beaten at Stamford Bridge 1-0 by Forest, as they languish in the bottom half of the table approaching the international break.

It was their second defeat of the season, and the second which had followed the same pattern that had plagued them all throughout last season.

Individual errors have been punished regularly, and the same happened to Moises Caicedo at the weekend.

Cundy has claimed that the loss was a particularly tough one to take, whilst also mentioning that the Blues did not look lie solving the conundrum of scoring.

Cundy appalled at Chelsea

He said: “Because we spent so much money, I understand we’re a bit of a laughing stock. It’s four games. But Saturday, that was a bad defeat, a terrible defeat. First off Forest, brilliantly executed. It’s like Groundhog day.

“Teams come and sit deep. It’s like looking at a massive wall without a ladder. Imagine a 15-foot wall. That’s what it looks like.”

The biggest chance of that miserable afternoon fell to Nicolas Jackson with just a few minutes of the game to go.

As they were chasing the equaliser, Raheem Sterling’s cutback found the Senegal international six yards out, however his effort ballooned over the bar.

It was clear this moment sucked the life out of the home crowd who were in attendance, as they were resigned to seeing yet another defeat at Stamford Bridge.
