Neil Warnock claims that Chelsea’s Graham Potter is going to be “terrified” dealing with egos in the dressing room at Stamford Bridge.
Potter, who’s had an unbeaten start as Chelsea boss, has taken the jump up to one of the elite clubs in Europe.
The 47-year-old coach has definitely had an unusual path to the top, which included a really successful time in Sweden during his early days. He’s had good spells with Swansea and Brighton more recently, too.
It’s true that he’s now working with superstar names at the Bridge, but he’s got two wins and one draw to kickstart his tenure.
This Blues squad seems a good group as well with plenty of young and hungry players.

Graham Potter will be terrified
Warnock, who retired as a manager earlier in 2022 after 42 years in the dugout, has delivered an interesting take on Chelsea’s new head coach.
He suggests that the Englishman will be feeling serious pressure as the Blues boss.
“I know exactly how he’s feeling now, Graham. He will be terrified underneath at times because he’s going to come up against egos that he’s never met or seen in his life,” Warnock said on the Die For Three Points podcast.
“When you have been at a club like Brighton, a family club with good fans, not really a lot of pressures. He’ll also remember the time when he got booed 12 months ago, which I thought was a disgrace at the time.
“So he will be worried and frightened to death, but he knows his coaching will take him through it and he’ll have his staff down.
“Deep down, underneath, he will be terrified of some of those lads. But he’s got to get through that and the 200 grand a week might help him relax!”

If Potter is nervous on the inside, he’s doing a good job of hiding it.
He’s under a new kind of spotlight and pressure to anything he’s experienced before, but fans will be pleased with how he’s adjusting to his new position.
Potter comes across very well in the media. Also, he’s a very calming influence on the sidelines during games.
The Englishman has been given this opportunity based off his highly rated coaching ability, so he should feel confident in himself.
The fact he took on the job knowing he’ll deal with more high-profile players shows he’s not afraid. Martin Keown has highlighted he’s actually leaned on the experience of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thiago Silva so far.
