Pat Nevin has explained why he thinks Chelsea’s Jorginho is going to be in great shape and incredibly fit when the team return to action next week.
A large chunk of the Blues squad have spent the past month playing in Qatar at the World Cup, with a real mixture of results for individuals.
However, senior players such as Jorginho and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have had a few weeks resting and training.
For Jorginho, he would have loved to be representing Italy at the World Cup. However, the 31-year-old has had some time to recharge the batteries with the Italians failing to qualify.

Jorginho in great shape
Pat Nevin is predicting that Jorginho will be in a much better place after having time to recuperate during the World Cup.
In fact, he suggests the midfielder could return to top fitness and top shape.
“Italy not qualifying while being European champions was a real shock but considering the games Jorginho has played in the past few years, maybe a bit of a break is what he needed more than most. I have great hopes for him returning in the best and sharpest shape he has been in for a while,” Nevin wrote on the club’s official website.

Our guess is that Graham Potter will rely on Jorginho quite heavily in the upcoming set of games.
The deep-lying playmaker should be fit and raring to go in next week’s game against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Journalist Ben Jacobs recently reported that Jorginho is more upbeat now about signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge after working alongside Potter.
If he’s on top of his game, the midfielder is more than capable of dictating things in the centre of the park for the Blues.
