Chelsea have made it their goal to sign some of the best young talents in the world.
For example, this summer, Chelsea have a agreed a deal with Palmeiras to sign 17-year-old Estevao Willian.
Last summer, it was Kendry Paez, who was only 16 at the time.
Neither player will be able to link-up with Chelsea until next year, when they will both be 18, though new signing Marc Guiu is available now.
But the Blues will not mind. It is the future that they are clearly thinking about, not just the present, and the agent of one of their young signings has been speaking about why their client decided to join the club.
Chelsea’s appeal
According to one agent, it is Chelsea’s long-term project that is attracting young players to west London at this moment in time.
The Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill recently shared what they said on X.
“They are showing their long-term project,” the agent stated as they explained why their client had moved to Stamford Bridge. “It’s the best in the world.
“When you currently have the best young players, and you are signing the best of the best in promising players, you just can succeed.”

Will Chelsea’s transfer strategy pay off?
Not all of Chelsea’s young signings have been part of the first team.
However, some have, which includes the likes of Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto.
They are not teenagers like Estevao and Paez, but Palmer and Gusto are still quite young.
The former joined Chelsea last summer when he was still 21, while the latter only turned that age in May.
Both players were excellent during the 2023/24 season, with Palmer scoring 25 goals in all competitions for the Blues, while Gusto came up with nine assists, which is very good for a full-back.
They are proof that Chelsea’s transfer strategy, which has been centred on signing young players, could eventually pay off. But it could take some time, with some of their recent additions still extremely young.
