Kai Havertz has sent a message to Chelsea teammate Mason Mount on Instagram after winning the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.
The Blues made it a perfect start to the new 2021/22 season by winning silverware last night in a European final.
First of all, Thomas Tuchel’s side were level at 1-1 with Spanish club Villarreal after 120 minutes of entertaining action. But, the contest was decided by Chelsea winning 6-5 in a penalty shootout.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was substituted on in extra time solely for penalties, made two saves to help secure the win.
Havertz played 120 minutes of action in midweek, something which wasn’t ideal ahead of the Premier League starting this weekend against Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Mount entered the action as a substitute in the second half.
Havertz responded to his teammate on Instagram post-match saying “the biggest threat”.
Mount made an impact off the bench with plenty of energy and creativity, but describing him as that is a stretch too far. Perhaps it’s just a joke between two friends.

Chelsea have so many star players in the squad that it’s hard to pick out one talisman.
N’Golo Kante may be someone who springs to mind, but the likes of Mount and Havertz can run him very close with their own value to Tuchel’s XI.
There was once an Eden Hazard era where he was consistently the best player on the pitch, so it’s great to see different individuals step up at different times in this current group.
