Chelsea made a number of new signings during the summer transfer window in order to finetune their squad ahead of the arrival of their new manager.

Enzo Maresca has seemed to do really well with the plethora of talented players he has at his disposal, however one individual brought in has certainly had a big impact on the side.

Pedro Neto has earned himself a starting spot in the Premier League for Chelsea, scoring his first league goal for the club at the weekend against Arsenal.

The strike rescued a point for the Blues against their London rivals, and was the finishing touches on a really strong performance from the Portugal international.

Pundit Michael Bridges believes that Chelsea have signed a superstar in Neto, and so far he has avoided any of the injury issues that have plagued his Premier League career up to now.

Behdad Eghbali was key to Chelsea signing Pedro Neto

A number of people behind the scenes are always keen to have their points of view heard on who the club should sign, although that job has now been somewhat streamlined to the sporting directors at the club.

However, according to LondonWorld, it was actually Behdad Eghbali who was key for the Blues’ push to sign Neto.

Chelsea beat Arsenal to Pedro Neto

The deal to bring in the winger from Wolves seemed to come out of nowhere as far as transfers these days are concerned, with a number of their rival sides interested in a deal.

Theo Walcott thinks Arsenal missed a trick not signing Neto over the summer, and that certainly came back to bite them at the weekend.

The reported rift between Eghbali and co-owner Todd Boehly has shown no signs of ending anytime soon, with the duo really needing to come to a resolution one way or another soon before it begins to harm the club in the long-term.
