‘The difference’… Axel Disasi super impressed by what he’s just seen from 23-year-old Chelsea player

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi really liked what he saw from teammate Mykhailo Mudryk in the victory against Newcastle United a couple of days ago.

Chelsea recorded an important 3-2 Premier League win at home to Newcastle on Monday night, which keeps them in the conversation for the European positions.

Blues attacker Mykhailo Mudryk, 23, scored what turned out to be the winning goal.

The fast left-winger was very lively with his cameo off the bench, scoring a superb individual goal by dribbling through the heart of Newcastle’s defence and finishing after going around the goalkeeper.

He’s struggled for minutes so far in 2024, especially in the Premier League, but he’s showing no signs of sulking and is fighting hard to get back in the XI.

Axel Disasi, 26, believes Chelsea attacker Mudryk deserves lots of credit for his substitute performance earlier this week versus Newcastle.

“When Misha (Mudryk) came in, he made the difference so this showed that all the players can make a difference – we are all together! It’s a good message for the group. I hope that in the future the team will continue like this. We are a group and everyone has to stay focused,” Disasi said via Chelsea’s official website.

Mudryk’s definitely got the individual ability to impact this Chelsea side, but it’s all about unlocking the potential and consistency with him.

Speaking via Sky Sports this week, Jamie Carragher said he was delighted to see Mudryk’s positive impact at home to Newcastle and hopes he can now kick on his career.

There’s always going to be big pressure on the Ukrainian youngster because he cost the Blues up to £89 million (BBC).

However, the quick forward needs to focus on his football and importantly seize the moments he’s on the pitch.

From what we see, we’d like Mudryk to be more direct and positive when in possession, particularly in the final third. It’s time to really frighten defences with the tools at his disposal.
