Thomas Tuchel gushed over Mason Mount and his importance to the future of both Chelsea and England, speaking in his press conference.

There can’t be many superlatives left to describe Mount and the superb season he has been basking in.

The 22-year-old’s latest achievement was to cement his side’s place in this year’s Champions League final with a goal against Real Madrid.

His CV continues to grow for both club and country. His aim is to ignite England’s European Championship campaign in the summer.

Tuchel talks up Mason

Tuchel recognised how priceless the talented midfielder was, for him and for Gareth Southgate.

“He is outstanding,” said the Blues boss on Mount.

“He has the full package, in terms of mentality, of being humble, of work ethic and of course talent.

“The national team can be very happy to have these kind of players, because they are reliable on the highest level.

“They are hungry. They behave exactly how you want these players to behave at that age.

“They want to learn; they want to be better. It seems that they don’t feel the pressure.”

Golden Boys

This reference also includes Phil Foden, who is enjoying an equally epic adventure with Manchester City.

Chelsea and City’s young guns could go toe-to-toe on Saturday when the teams face off in the Premier League.

They will all most definitely contest each other in the European final.

Hopefully for England fans, Mount and Foden can put their domestic rivalry aside to link up on the international stage in June.

Both have been propelled upwards in Southgate’s plans, from promising products to crucial components.

But only one can enter into the Euros with a Champions League winners medal hanging round their necks.

Whoever is successful on the 29th of May, Three Lions supporters can be thankful to be witnessing such a golden generation of creative, homegrown individuals.
