Pundit Paul Merson has claimed that Enzo Fernandez was Chelsea’s only impressive player in their defeat to Nottingham Forest today.

During his coverage for Sky Sports, he stated that the 22-year-old was the only real positive for a Blues side who were extremely disappointing at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Fernandez was on the losing side again for Chelsea as they were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest in West London.

Anthony Elanga’s early second half goal was enough for them to pick up all three points, with all of the life from a week ago being completely sucked out of the home ground.

Supporters were clearly frustrated with what they had just seen, and even the most optimistic of Chelsea fans will have struggled to find many positives from the display.

Merson however was impressed with what he saw from Fernandez, claiming he was the only Blue who looked as if he was going to be able to turn things around.

He said: “The only one who looks like doing anything is Enzo Fernandez. Elsewhere, Chelsea don’t look like scoring”

Changes will surely be afoot for Mauricio Pochettino after the international break when club football returns.

There may be an appetite to hand new signing Cole Palmer his first start for the club, after he looked bright following his cameo off the bench.

It will be a trip to the South Coast to face Bournemouth when they do return to domestic action.
