Chris Sutton is predicting Chelsea to drop points when they face off against Brighton tomorrow in the Premier League.

Chelsea travel to the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon to play Brighton, with the teams in contrasting form right now.

The Blues are unbeaten in nine games across all competitions since Graham Potter took charge as manager, beating Red Bull Salzburg in midweek to qualify as group winners in the Champions League.

As for Brighton, they’re winless in their last five matches. Roberto De Zerbi is the new Seagulls boss trying to replicate the success of Potter on the South Coast.

Chelsea against Brighton

BBC pundit Sutton is predicting a 1-1 stalemate in this weekend’s clash between Brighton and Chelsea.

He thinks the hosts can grab a point if they match the performance they showed in their recent 3-1 loss against Manchester City.

“Potter is unbeaten after nine games with Chelsea, but I don’t think this will be straightforward for them at all,” Sutton told BBC Sport.

“Brighton were actually decent in defeat against Manchester City last weekend. A lot of teams get rolled over by City, but the Seagulls took the game to them at times and they will do the same here.”

Blues should be confident

Chelsea played some of their best football of the season during Tuesday’s Champions League win over Salzburg, so they should visit Brighton in great spirits.

In fairness, the last three meetings between the teams have ended in draws. The main difference this time is that Potter is in the opposite managerial dugout, though.

Potter has managed to grind out positive results during the opening matches of his reign, but now there are signs his philosophy is being imprinted on players.
