Thiago Silva’s son Iago has named Mason Mount as his favourite Chelsea player aside from his father — and the Blues fans would love it.
The 36-year-old centre-back arrived at Stamford Bridge on a free tranfer last summer and has since grown into a fan favourite.
Silva has established himself as an important player in the team that when he is fit, he is arguably one of the first names on the team sheet.
But not only Silva, but his family also seem to found themselves growingly attached to the west London outfit.
In last November, Silva’s sons Isago and Iago started training with the Chelsea academy.
Even the younger brother Iago already has his favourite Blues star now.
“My favourite Chelsea player, without being my dad, is Mason Mount,” the Iago said on his mother’s Instagram account.
Both Isago and Iago also picked Chelsea as the team they support, while the rest of the family picked Brazilian clubs instead.
Last week’s report from The Telegraph mentioned that Chelsea already planned to discuss Siva’s one-year contract extension option with the player’s agent.
The report also said that Silva’s family will play a role in the defender’s final decision, with Chelsea being confident to keep him beyond this season.
Considering how the family members seem to like Chelsea, hopefully, it will make it easier for Silva to make a decision over his contract.
