ESPN pundit Janusz Michallik is really worried about one area of Chelsea’s team.
Janusz Michallik was speaking on ESPN FC after Chelsea‘s 3-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday.
Goals from Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill helped the Blues to secure the victory, with the former scoring a brace.
Chelsea went 2-0 up on the day, but the match ended up being a very uncomfortable one for Mauricio Pochettino‘s side after Conor Gallagher’s sending off in the first half. The midfielder has since apologised for his dismissal.
Janusz Michallik concerned about Chelsea’s attack
Michallik has suggested that Chelsea have the worst forward line out of all of the top teams in the country, putting it behind Tottenham Hotspur’s, for example.
Discussing the Blues’ attack on ESPN, the former USA international said: “I look at that team and we talk about front lines and I was thinking the other day… I look at [Nicolas] Jackson, I look at [Raheem] Sterling, [Mykhailo] Mudryk, Gallagher and even Cole Palmer.
“I mean, think about it. They’re nowhere near the front lines of the two top teams. I’m talking Liverpool, Manchester City. I’m talking Arsenal. I could probably throw in there Spurs, maybe Villa, for sure even Newcastle.”

Chelsea’s attack improving
In Chelsea’s defence, their forward line is starting to get better. None of their attackers scored in the triumph over Brighton.
However, Sterling scored an incredible free-kick in the loss to Newcastle United before their most recent outing, with it going on to win Premier League Goal of the Month for November.
Before the international break, the Blues also managed to put four past Manchester City, with Sterling, Jackson and Palmer all netting against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Still, this is definitely not an attack that is on the level of City and Arsenal’s. And if they want to start fighting for the title again, then that is where they need to get to.
For now, though, Pochettino’s men just need to concentrate on scoring enough goals to qualify for the Champions League, but even that looks like a real mission at this moment in time.
Going into their game against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday, Chelsea find themselves 10 points behind fourth.
