Thomas Tuchel admitted he did not notice the Chelsea fans’ singing his name during the 3-0 win over Newcastle United but was still impressed by the away support.

The Chelsea manager was likely way too focused on the game to pay attention to the crowd’s singing.

Still, the travelling fans showed their appreciation to the Champions League-winning manager with his song.

It is not exactly a new song, as most Chelsea fans would immediately realise that it is very similar to the one they had for Frank Lampard.

“Oh, I didn’t hear it, I’m sorry for that,” Tuchel told Chelsea TV after the game when asked about his chant.

“I was impressed we had so many supporters here [at St James’ Park].

“To calm the [home fans] crowd down like we did today is also an achievement. It was by quality and concentration — well done, to the players.

“I’m happy that we could score three goals in front of our spectators in an away game.”

Tuchel has not been the only Chelsea figure to get his own chant sung by the fans, though.

Back in May, Timo Werner said he was really happy to hear the fans singing his name, having never experienced it before in Germany.
