Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has given an injury update in his Friday press conference by naming the four individuals who are unavailable for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Leeds United.
The Blues host rivals Leeds at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon in an important game, as they look to bounce back from a recent defeat in the league against West Ham.
Tuchel has confirmed that Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell and N’Golo Kante are all still sidelined through injury. In addition, Mateo Kovacic remains out after testing positive for Covid-19.
The quartet were all missing from the midweek 3-3 draw against Zenit St Petersburg, but two more players who missed the Champions League tie are now back in contention.
Jorginho’s return to fitness from a back problem has been confirmed by Tuchel. Also, Ruben Loftus-Cheek appears to have the green light on his own injury scare.

Significant Chelsea boost
Of course, the Blues would love the likes of Kante and Kovacic available to them.
However, it’s a really significant piece of news on Friday that Jorginho is an option for the weekend’s match.
The Italian is surely a nailed-on starter against Leeds after the injury news, as Chelsea look such a more settled outfit when they’ve got one of their senior central midfielders playing.
There may not be a lot of time on the ball against a relentless opposition in Leeds, but Jorginho’s got the quality and experience to deal with it. He should have the bit between his teeth after a recent error against Manchester United, too.
Chelsea now have the perfect opportunity at home to get over their mini blip of negative results.
