Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was partly responsible for Tino Livramento’s Stamford Bridge exit.
That is according to a report from The Athletic.
Tino Livramento is currently thriving at Newcastle United and could have been a great asset to Chelsea.
However, The Athletic has suggested that the right-back was forced to leave the Blues for Southampton in 2021.
They claim that the arrival of Thomas Tuchel that year did not help Chelsea in their bid to keep Livramento at the club, with the German failing to give him any minutes, while his pursuit of Achraf Hakimi also sent the wrong message to the 21-year-old.
Livramento has since gone on to join Newcastle, who signed him from Southampton for £40m during the summer (BBC Sport), and he is absolutely enjoying life there.
The England U21 international has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season, including two in the Champions League.

Will Chelsea have regrets about Tino Livramento?
Without a doubt. Chelsea have some really good full-backs right now, Reece James and Ben Chilwell, for example.
But they have had so many injury problems, with the latter currently sidelined. Bearing that in mind, Livramento would have been an incredible asset to have around since he has proven that he can play at both right-back and left-back.
Of course, Livramento has not stayed injury free either. However, he had one bad injury problem that he has now recovered from, in contrast to James and Chilwell, who come back before being sidelined again.
Chelsea just need to hope that both players can overcome their fitness issues. If they do, then not much is going to be said about Livramento.
But if that does not turn out to be the case and the Blues find themselves having to go out and spend even more money on full-backs, then their critics are going to start questioning the club’s management of Livramento, if they are not already.
