Thomas Tuchel has explained that Mason Mount has caught his eye in any footage he’s watched of previous Chelsea games.
New Blues manager Tuchel was on the touchline for his side’s 0-0 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek during his first game in charge and now has a bit of time preparing for this weekend’s Premier League fixture at home to Burnley.
Mount was a surprise omission from the starting XI against Wolves, but put in an extremely bright cameo off the bench.
The 22-year-old has arguably been the player of the season so far at Stamford Bridge and was so often the go-to man under Frank Lampard.
He’s an attacking midfielder that has chipped in with three goals and six assists so far this campaign in all competitions.
Tuchel has given a positive verdict on England international Mount and has suggested his work-rate has impressed him when looking back at any Chelsea matches.
“I like what I see from Mason so far, from his personality that I get to know now from three days. It’s amazing. Such a nice guy, such a competitive guy, such a lot of talent. And the most important – every game I watch so far he leaves his heart on the pitch,” Tuchel said, as quoted by Football.London.
“He cares for Chelsea 100 percent. He gives the 100 percent he has every time he plays and this is the best basis for a big development. I am very happy to have him around. I will not stop pushing him, I will not stop guiding him, I will not stop trusting him. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.”

If Tuchel needed to know how important Mount is to the Chelsea team right now, he certainly learned it against Wolves.
The attack-minded midfielder injected a spark into the Blues during his brief time on the pitch and he looked the most likely to create something against a stubborn low block.
Mount surely has to start this weekend against Burnley, whether that be in a deeper midfield role or in a more advanced one behind the striker.
