Tim Sherwood claims Chelsea will become Premier League title contenders if they manage to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer.
Sherwood has made the interesting claim that Chelsea or Manchester United would be second favourites for the league title behind Manchester City if they signed Harry Kane.
Despite playing in a Spurs side that have been up and down this season, Kane has still scored 27 goals across all competitions so far.
The 29-year-old centre-forward is now joint-second as the Premier League’s highest ever goalscorer, so you’re not going to find a more reliable striker to score in England’s top division.

Sherwood has suggested that Kane will need to make a decision on his future this summer as he prepares to enter the final year of his Spurs deal.
When speaking about Kane on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast (4 May), Sherwood said: “I think he’s got a tough decision to make. If you cut him in half, he bleeds Tottenham and he loves the club, but in the end he needs to win trophies. If it were me, I would certainly be looking to go and join the club that I felt was best equipped to win a trophy, and I think that will either be Manchester United or Chelsea.
“If you put Kane into Manchester United or Chelsea, they automatically become second favourites in the league behind Manchester City because he’s a game changer. He’s not a flash in the pan, he’s been getting 20 goals a season for almost 10 years now, he’s consistent, and he knows the Premier League.”

Chelsea speculation
It’s worth noting that Chelsea are linked with an ambitious move for Kane in the transfer rumour mill.
TalkSPORT claimed last month that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is bracing himself for an offer from Chelsea this summer for Kane. They add Mauricio Pochettino’s expected appointment as the Blues manager could increase the interest.
The Times reported earlier this year that Spurs will only considering sell Kane for £100million in an up-front payment.
Of course, the idea of a prolific scorer like Kane in Chelsea colours next season will excite supporters. But is it realistic to think he will cut his Spurs ties and move across London?
As for talk of the Premier League crown, we’ve seen Chelsea launch title bids from nowhere in previous years. This really doesn’t feel like it can be emulated next season when you see how bad things have been this campaign, though.
