Jorginho wanted to send out his gratitude to the collection of haters that have spurred him on since he signed for Chelsea in 2018.
Writing in the Players Tribune, Jorginho addressed the circle of cynics who haven’t been able to let him rest following his arrival from Napoli three years ago.
No matter how much the Italian has achieved, or well he’s performed, there will always be a huddle of nonbelievers, tutting at his every move.

Admittedly, it took time for even the most optimistic Chelsea fans to accept the midfielder’s methods.
He endured a lot of the slack for Maurizio Sarri’s perceived monotonous approach to play, mainly because the pair arrived together from Naples.
The 29-year-old never asked to be centre of attention; his style simply demands it.
Hushing the haters
Even after Jorginho’s incredible summer, where he claimed Champions League and European Championship glory, some still managed to throw shade in his direction.
But is this an issue?
Certainly not in Jorginho’s pearly eyes.

“You see, I’ve had a turbulent start at every club I’ve been with,” he admitted.
“Every club. It’s incredible. When I came to Verona, nobody wanted me.
“They sent me on loan to the fourth division.
“Nobody wanted me there either. But I kept working and I won respect. I went back to Verona and we went up to Serie A.
“I had a hard year at Napoli, too, and then Sarri came and changed everything.
“So the Chelsea stuff? Puh! I just used the criticism as fuel. I was thinking, ‘These people are going to be embarrassed.’

“And now I’m sitting here with a Europa League title and a Champions League title. So to all the critics, I just want to say one thing.
“Thank you. Really, thank you all.”
What more can he do?
This declaration is even without mentioning the UEFA Super Cup, the winners medal of which now hangs neatly in Jorginho’s trophy cabinet.
He slotted his spot-kick in the shootout away with typical guile, just as he did in the Euros semi-final triumph over Spain.

A master of precision and possession, it is peculiar to think there are people out there who don’t rate the Italian.
At least the UEFA judges do, having awarded him the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.
Just what Jorgi deserves.
