Darren Bent has revealed that he thinks Chelsea No.1 Robert Sanchez should have stopped Anthony Elanga’s goal for Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The 39-year-old made the comments when speaking on talkSPORT.
So, what did Darren Bent say about Robert Sanchez? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the talkSPORT pundit felt the Spain international could have done a lot better to stop Elanga’s goal in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Sweden international raced through on goal after being played in by Taiwo Awoniyi, before slotting a well placed – albeit fairly weak – effort into the bottom right corner.

Sanchez dived to save the shot in similar fashion to a tree being cut down – the Spaniard seemed to take ages to get to ground, and Bent believes he could have done better.
He said: “I think Anthony Elanga’s goal went in a little too easy from that distance. He didn’t blast it, he almost rolled it into the corner. I thought, Robert Sanchez, couldn’t he have done better with that?”
We thought the same.
Robert Sanchez must impress at Chelsea this season
Chelsea have put a lot of faith in Sanchez this summer, spending £25m to prise him away from Brighton while also handing him the No.1 shirt.
However, the 25-year-old needs to perform this season, as Djordje Petrovic is breathing down his neck.
Chelsea signed the Serbia international from New England Revolution for £14m shortly after Sanchez was bought.

The 23-year-old may be a backup option for now, although New England Revolution and Major League Soccer expert Seth Macomber exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that he believes Petrovic is ready to fight for the No.1 shirt this season.
Therefore, if Sanchez fails to impress this term, Mauricio Pochettino may be tempted to throw the Serbian glovesman in between the sticks instead.
