Stuart Pearce claims that Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher isn’t worth as much as £40million.
This comes at a time when West Ham have reportedly failed in an attempt to sign Conor Gallagher.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter this week that Chelsea have rejected a £40million bid from West Ham for Gallagher. He added that the Hammers are still interested in the Blues midfielder, but he’s valued at closer to £50million by people at Stamford Bridge.

TalkSPORT pundit and former England star Pearce certainly isn’t convinced by the kind of money mentioned alongside Gallagher.
He’s said that the 23-year-old central midfielder isn’t worth the £40million Chelsea just turned down for him.
“I think £40million is too much. I think you’re probably paying for the age… He’s a young player who is developing. He’s got great energy and scored goals at Crystal Palace when he first went there on loan. I think that would be more than realistic as a figure for Conor Gallagher. I wouldn’t go any higher than £40million,” Pearce told talkSPORT.

In our view, Gallagher’s valuation is roughly around the correct mark when you consider he’s an England international with huge potential still.
We didn’t see the best of Chelsea’s academy graduate last season at Stamford Bridge, but the same could be said about almost every single Blues player.
This is still a player who can be a genuine goalscoring midfielder at the Premier League level.
Mauricio Pochettino explained in a press conference this week that Chelsea don’t plan to sell Gallagher (Football.London).
If Pochettino is happy using him in the upcoming season, we’re happy!
