Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez has taken to social media to share his praise for one of his teammates after yesterday’s win over Brighton.
He commented on the Instagram of Thiago Silva to praise the defender for what was a truly brilliant performance.
Silva certainly took his fair share of criticism for the part he played in the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle last week.
However, with suspensions picked up by both Reece James and Marc Cucurella, it was all hands on deck as far as the defenders were concerned yesterday.
The Blues picked up just their second home win of the season against tough opposition in Brighton.
The 3-2 win will have been even more sweet after the fact that Conor Gallagher picked up a red card in the first half, further enforcing claims that discipline is a real issue right now.
Fernandez praises Silva
Cool heads prevailed late in the game though, with the experience of Silva being absolutely crucial at the back.
Fernandez was one of those who was appreciative, commenting on the Brazilian’s Instagram post to share his praise.
The World Cup winner was back to his best yesterday too, as he found his first and second goals for the club either side of half-time.
The best of the Argentine came though when his side were down in numbers, with him showcasing an ability to take the sting out of the game on numerous occasions.
While the win will not go down as a vintage one for Chelsea in years to come, it is an important step in the right direction.
They will now look to take that form into Wednesday’s game against Manchester United, with the South American duo certain to be starting.
