Kurt Zouma saved a special mention for N’Golo Kante whilst reeling off his closest friends at Chelsea.

During an interview for the official club website, Zouma was listing his best Blues pals.

Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell, Tammy Abraham, and Antonio Rudiger were all mentioned.

But Zouma held the highest praise back for his club and country comrade.

When describing Kante, the towering defender said: “Top man. I don’t even know if he is human.

“He is running everywhere. Top personality. Very shy.”

Out of this world

This is not the first-time people have questioned Kante about being from this planet.

Back in 2017, Thierry Henry recalled the time he visited Chelsea’s training ground in his column for the Sun.

“I was at the Chelsea training ground last week to see Eden Hazard and noticed N’Golo Kante wandering back to the changing rooms,” wrote the former Arsenal striker.

“So I went over to him and stood in front of him. And I poked him in the chest.

“I had to, just to check if he was real! “You are real, you are!” I said, and he laughed.

“Well, he may be real — but he’s certainly not normal.”

Classy Kante

The period in Henry’s memory was the season Kante was about to be named Premier League champion, alongside the PFA and FWA player of the year.

Chelsea’s midfielder won’t win either accolade this campaign, but he’s certainly earned enough plaudits for his performances.

After suffering slightly with a few injuries, France’s mini-maestro has made a huge impact during Thomas Tuchel’s tenure.

He played a big part in both Champions League semi-final legs against Real Madrid, plus the league victory away to Liverpool.

There will be some worries over his fitness heading into the final day clash with Aston Villa.

Kante was removed in the first half at home to Leicester City on Tuesday, with Tuchel admitting he had felt a minor issue in his hamstring.

Rushing him back wouldn’t be advised, but the Blues don’t want to be without him for their final two massive fixtures of 2020/21.
