Tony Cascarino thinks that Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked “off the pace” in the weekend’s game.
Chelsea recorded a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s home match against Manchester United in the Premier League, which stretches Graham Potter’s unbeaten run as Blues manager to eight games.
A tactical battle played out on the weekend at Stamford Bridge in a game where there weren’t too many clear-cut chances.
For Aubameyang, he did work hard at the top of the pitch before coming off in the final 15 minutes.
The 33-year-old striker looked dangerous at times with some of his movement, but couldn’t quite find enough opportunities around the box leave his mark on the game.

Aubameyang off the pace
TalkSPORT pundit Cascarino has criticised Aubameyang for his contribution on Saturday. He’s really worried about his overall recent form, too.
“Aubameyang has not really got going. Yes, he’s had his couple of moments. He was totally off the pace [against Manchester United],” Cascarino told talkSPORT.
ESPN pundit Stewart Robson wasn’t impressed by the forward at the weekend, too.
It’s a bit of an overreaction to Aubameyang’s performance against Man United, with his teammates struggling to create too much for him.
He’s scored three goals in eight appearances since joining in the summer, so it’s fair to highlight that the goals have dried up in recent weeks.
It’s no coincidence that the Blues suddenly look a lot less potent and creative going forward now that right wing-back Reece James is sidelined through injury.

If Chelsea can just create a bit more for Aubameyang, the likelihood is the centre-forward will soon be back among the goals.
Blues youngster Armando Broja may add a bit more energy and bullishness when he’s on the pitch leading the line, but there’s still enough right now in Aubameyang’s performances to show why Potter is sticking with him.
