Marcus Bettinelli celebrated the news yesterday of signing a new contract at Chelsea.
Marcus Bettinelli, who joined the Blues back in 2021, has now extended his stay at Stamford Bridge.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper has penned a contract extension which keeps him at the club until at least the summer of 2026 (official website).
He’s the third-choice keeper at Chelsea behind Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy, who play for their countries Spain and Senegal, respectively.

Bettinelli posted a message on Instagram on Monday celebrating his new deal, which received responses from some past and present teammates.
Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell replied: “tremendous stuff.”
Elsewhere, former Blues midfielder Saul Niguez responded with several clapping emojis.
“Congratulations mate,” Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher also said in the replies.

Despite being on the fringes of the squad, Bettinelli is clearly a popular figure within the Chelsea group.
Bettinelli has had to be extremely patient so far during his Chelsea career, making just one first-team appearance for the club to date. This came in an FA Cup third-round tie last season against Chesterfield.
He’s clearly happy and content with being a back-up goalkeeper, though.
It’s a position that most supporters will say no ambitious player should be filling, but somebody has got to occupy that role at each club. Chelsea will always want a strong goalkeeper unit, too.
Our small concern is where this leaves Gabriel Slonina, who’s Chelsea’s highly rated 18-year-old gloveman. Perhaps he needs a loan move next season at a Championship club to help his development.
