Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is pushing for the Blues to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.
The Barcelona man has emerged as a shock target to solve the Blues’ attacking woes, with them starting the Premier League season with just the one recognised striker.
Armando Broja, who was also heavily favoured to leave the club at some point this summer, is the only regular number nine at the club, although he didn’t start in the club’s season opener against Everton.

Kai Havertz operated the central role against the Toffees, although failed to impress and will no doubt have left his manager wanting more from that role.
This has apparently turned his head towards his former striker Aubameyang, with Romano claiming he deems him as the perfect option for the current situation at the club.
He said: “Thomas Tuchel is pushing with Todd Boehly to sign Pierre Aubameyang as he’s considered perfect striker – but Barcelona have not received official proposal yet. ”Chelsea are considering Auba as an option as revealed last week.”
Tuchel pushing for Aubameyang
The former Arsenal man was extradited from the London side under current manager Mikel Arteta, after he was stripped of captaincy at the Emirates last season.
He completed a move away in January, with him finding his scoring touch again for Barcelona in the second half of the campaign.

With the Blues likely to be looking for more of a long-term target when the Romelu Lukaku situation is resolved, there is an opportunity then for the signing of a striker to come in with an eye towards the long-term future.
However, until then the option of someone like Aubameyang, with proven Premier League experience would be a good acquisition for the Blues.
This does rely on Tuchel being able to control his off-field antics, although the hope that they’ve worked together in the past will address this.
