Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is confident that he can bring the best out of Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk.

It claims that Tuchel believes he can get Trevoh Chalobah to perform and is now urging Bayern to sign the centre-back, who Chelsea are thought to value at around £25m.

Tuchel’s interest in his former player is not new.

In the last transfer window, Sky Sports reported that Bayern were in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Chalobah.

You would back Chalobah to excel under Tuchel if he does get a move to Bayern in January.

The German is obviously an excellent coach and worked with the 24-year-old during his time at Stamford Bridge.

It was Tuchel that gave Chalobah his chance in the Chelsea first team, so there is clearly something that he really likes about him.

The former England U21 international is yet to play a game under Mauricio Pochettino this season because of injury, but even if he was fit, it is unlikely that he would be a regular right now.

Pochettino has Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill available to him at this moment in time. And things will not get any easier for Chalobah when Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana return from injury.

Therefore, a reunion with Tuchel at the Allianz Arena could be good for him and certainly seems possible when the transfer window reopens in the new year.
