Tuchel rejects Bayern
Former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly rejected the chance to take over at Bayern Munich at the end of the season, according to reports. The Bundesliga side are said to have approached Tuchel to replace Jupp Heynckes, who is retiring at the end of the season. However, the German manager has turned down the offer, and wants to manage in another European league. This could be good news for Chelsea, however, as Tuchel is one of many names being linked with the currently occupied hot seat at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte’s future with the club is far from certain, and Tuchel could replace the Italian in the summer. Interest in the manager is high, with both PSG and Arsenal also reportedly keen on Tuchel.
Nunn Signs
Chelsea have completed the signing of 16-year-old George Nunn from Crewe Alexandra. The youngster is yet to make a first-team appearance at the League Two side, but has featured regularly for the Under-18s side. Nunn is a prolific goalscorer at junior level, and will be a part of the Blues’ development squad. Crewe will receive around £300,000 in compensation for the striker.
Fabregas’ Arsenal Return
Cesc Fabregas has admitted he would return to former side Arsenal in the future, should the club offer him a role. In a question and answer session on Twitter, the midfielder was quizzed about a possible reunion with the Gunners, and he refused to rule it out.
Giroud Happy
Olivier Giroud says he is happy at the club, and has said he feels welcome following his move from Arsenal in January. The Frenchman swapped red for blue on Deadline Day, as he bids to keep his World Cup dreams alive, and believes he has made the right choice.
“I am very happy about how I’ve adapted to Chelsea, I’ve been very welcomed there.
“I feel great and have a special relationship with the No 10, playing behind the front striker whether it is Eden, Willian or Pedro. I felt great right from my first game. I was decisive.
“It’s true that the games that followed were a bit harder and I didn’t manage to score goals. It was a mix between a lack of efficiency or maybe a lack of clear chances, for example, against Crystal Palace.”
