Chelsea pairing Timo Werner and Mason Mount both received perfect 10.0 match ratings for their performances in Saturday’s victory at Southampton.

The Blues turned on the style at St Mary’s by winning 6-0 away to Southampton this afternoon.

It means Thomas Tuchel’s side, who sit third in the Premier League table, now have an eight-point cushion over Arsenal in fifth.

There’s been a lot of doom and gloom recently around Stamford Bridge following back-to-back losses after the international break, so it was a much-needed result against the Saints.

Well-respected data statisticians WhoScored handed Werner and Mount the highest possible rating.

Elsewhere, Marcos Alonso (9.20), Mateo Kovacic (8.38), and Kai Havertz (8.32) were the team’s other best rated performers.

Mount reached double figures for goals this season by scoring twice in the demolition at Southampton. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder provided an assist at the weekend, too.

Werner, 26, scored twice himself to net in the Premier League for the first time since October. It was a real throwback to the kind of performance he was delivering on a consistent basis for ex-club RB Leipzig in Germany. His manager Tuchel was impressed post-match with his “strong” display.

Second biggest Chelsea win of the season

The Blues delivered a truly memorable display at St Mary’s by scoring six goals, which is only second in their biggest wins of the season.

A 7-0 thrashing at home to Norwich City back October is still Chelsea’s biggest Premier League win of the campaign so far.

Tuchel’s side aren’t regarded as heavy goalscorers, especially compared to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool. However, the squad has now scored 105 goals across all competitions this season.
