Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson is aiming to win the Champions League with the Blues in the future.

Omari Hutchinson is currently on loan at Ipswich Town but has been speaking to The Athletic about both his short-term and long-term goals.

The attacker’s loan spell at Portman Road has been quite a productive one so far. He has played almost 20 games in all competitions already and has a couple of goals to his name.

As a 20-year-old, opportunities are the only thing Hutchinson will be asking for and he is getting them right now.

Omari Hutchinson’s ultimate aim

Hutchinson is dreaming big and has Champions League glory at Chelsea in his sights.

In an interview with The Athletic, the Jamaica international said: “Now I am on loan at Ipswich from Chelsea, I have set myself new aims; 10 goals and 10 assists for the season, the club’s Young Player of the Season award. But there are things beyond that, like making it at Chelsea, winning major competitions with them.

“The ultimate aim is the Champions League. I have a picture of the trophy set as the screen saver on my phone, so I see that silverware every day.”

Can Chelsea win the Champions League in the next five years?

Right now, Chelsea are not even in the Champions League and may not qualify for the competition next season. Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer thinks there is no chance of the Blues finishing in the top four this term.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men have really improved in recent weeks, but they are still 10 points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who currently sit in fourth.

They look nothing like a Champions League-winning side. However, a lot can obviously happen in five years.

Their current players, who are still quite young, should get better with time, while you would also expect a club such as Chelsea to continue spending.

With all of that in mind, then, Chelsea winning the Champions League again before 2030 is not impossible. No one expected them to claim the trophy in 2021, so do not rule anything out.

Will Hutchinson be at Stamford Bridge long enough to be part of a Champions League-winning Chelsea side? We will have to wait and see, but you have to admire his ambition.
