Chelsea supporters on social media were awash with emotion after Billy Gilmour made his senior Scotland debut last night.
Gilmour came on for the final flourish of his national side’s 2-2 friendly draw with the Netherlands.
It was a brilliant game that almost ended in victory for the Scots, if it weren’t for an 89th minute equaliser from Memphis Depay.
But nothing could detract from Gilmour’s golden arrival onto the international stage.
Here’s how Blues fans reacted towards their midfielder’s magic moment on Twitter:
Yesterday’s match will live long in the memory of Gilmour, who’s enjoyed quite an extraordinary last seven days.
The 19-year-old earned a Champions League winners medal after Chelsea defeated Manchester City, before breaking his Scotland duct.
Things are only looking up for the teenager, especially with the European Championships right around the corner.
Gilmour has a great chance to show the whole world his talents, rather than simply impressing those within the confines of Cobham.

There’s also an opportunity to send a message to Thomas Tuchel, demonstrating that he is worthy of a place in the Chelsea first team next season.
A report from The Northern Echo stated that Newcastle United were keen on signing the Chelsea youngster on loan this summer.
Although a move away from Stamford Bridge might seem appealing in the short term, there’s no doubt Gilmour can fight for his place in Tuchel’s regiment.
