Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are not currently in the hunt to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal in January.

He took to Twitter to state that the Blues are quiet on the goalkeeper front for now as they are happy with their options for at least this season.

Reports in recent weeks have linked Ramsdale with an exit from Arsenal after he has seen himself on the bench for big games in recent weeks.

He has been replaced by David Raya, who joined the Gunners despite being a target of the Blues over the summer.

Pundits were calling for Chelsea to target Ramsdale after Chelsea faced Arsenal in the Premier League a few weeks ago.

As the England international sat on the bench, Robert Sanchez handed the Gunners a way back into the game by passing the ball straight to Declan Rice for an open goal.

Chelsea not in for Ramsdale

The game was 2-0 at the time, and their opponents hadn’t had a sniff until the Spaniard gave the ball away.

That moment as well as a few others have left some Chelsea fans with little confidence in their current number one.

However, Romano has claimed that there are currently no plans to bring in any goalkeepers, including Ramsdale.

He said: “Understand Aaron Ramsdale is currently not part of Chelsea list as new goalkeeper. No negotiations are taking place now.

“Chelsea are still quiet on GK position as no talks are ongoing about that for January window.”

The Blues have still yet to hand an appearance to Djordje Petrovic since he came in from the MLS this summer.

Many thought he would get the start in the EFL Cup during the week against Blackburn Rovers, although he was made to wait even longer for his Chelsea debut.
